Gov. Ohakim Snubs PDP Disciplinary Committee, Risks Expulsion

The road is now set for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to expel Mr. Ikedi Godson Ohakim (Imo Governor).

It should be noted that Mr. Ohakim was summoned to appear before the PDP disciplinary committee on 25th August 2010 by 12pm to explain his political actions which are not in tune with the ethics and practices of the party. Read the rest of this entry

Tenure Extension: INEC Dashes Oni’s Hope

Against all expectations, there will be no tenure extension for Governor Segun Oni of Ekiti State and other state governors whose victory was annulled by election tribunals but contested in the rerun elections and won. This indication became clearer today following a public announcement by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, that governorship election would take place in January next year in all the states of the federation except in four states. Sex Workers in Ghana protest against Nigerian invasion

Ghanaian girls who offer sex for money at Adum, a suburb of Kumasi in the Ashanti region, have expressed anger over some Nigerians importing younger and prettier girls who are gradually taking over the sex business.

If not for the intervention of the assembly member for the area, Albert Osei-Banahene, the enraged sex workers would have hit the streets in their nakedness and marched from one office building to another, just to get the authorities to come to their aide. Read the rest of this entry

The only road linking the people of Ikpe Ikot Nkon and Itu Mbonuso with other urban centres in the state is in an utter state of disrepair.
