(Dr.) Effanga Okon Inyang recently extolled the Pragmatic Leadership role of Chief Godswill Akpabio in the education, which led to the recent conferment of Doctor of Law degree by the University of Uyo . A cream of medical doctors and nurses from Akwa Ibom State Ministry of Health recently stormed Mbiaya Uruan in Uruan Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State and offered free medical treatments to the people of the area

AKWA UNITED BEATS STARLETS IN FA CUP

The 2009 challenge cup final has been rounded off in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital with Akwa United emerging champion against Starlets Football Club of Ikot Ekpene.

            The match which was played last weekend at Uyo township stadium ended 2-1 in the extra time of the encounter.

            To qualify for final, Akwa United trashed Fortune FC of Uyo 3-1, while points were awarded  to Akwa Starlets because of unruly behavior by AKPF fans who were said to have beaten the match officials after the first half of the semi-final match.

            In his remarks at the closing ceremony, the Commissioner for Youths and Sports, Mr. Enobong Umoetuk who was represented by the Permanent Secretary in the ministry, Mrs. Arit Ibanga commended the state Football Association for organizing what she described as a successful FA inspite of all hurdles.

While congratulating the champion, she advised Akwa United and the first runners up (Akwa Starlets) to make the state proud in the next round of the challenge cup.

Meanwhile, the Media Officer of Akwa United, Mr Uwem Ekoh while briefing newsmen has assured that Akwa United will lift this year’s National Challenge Cup.
