Uda Youths Round off Solemn Assembly

Posted by 12 January, 2012

In an effort to tackling the many development challenges of their community, the youths of Uda community in Mbo local government area of Akwa Ibom State have elected to go spiritual with a successful hosting of a-one day solemn assembly.

The spiritual meet which featured praise and worship, deliverance prayers for Udaland and word ministration witnessed a good turn-out of Elder and youths as well as youth leaders from the eight villages which constitute Uda. In his message at the occasion, a Calabar-based Man of God, Evangelist Joseph Obungabia said the sins of the ancestors could plunge the generations into untold hardship.

Evang Obungabia, who got his texts from Leviticus 25:23 reiterated that it was an anomaly to allow a land to be sold forever, stressing that poverty, backwardness, exploitation are direct effects of a sick land. He called for repentance and a determination on the part the people to ensure the spiritual dark cloud of under development hovering over the community is destroyed forever. In an exhortation, Elder Samson Etim of the Apostolic Church appealed to the youths to “eschew evil and exuberances which are capable of precipitating our woes.”

Also speaking, Secretary General of Uda Youths Development Association, Ulap Opio Etifit noted that “prayers and supplication offered during the Solemn Assembly shall re-arrange things in favour of Uda community.” Opio believed strongly that since prayers are spiritually recognized as a potent weapon against the forces of evil; the tears freely shed by youths of Udaland for God’s divine intervention shall water the dryness and patched soil of the community for good.
