The ACN Candidate for Etinan State constituency in the April, 2011 general election, Dr. Friday Etuk has denied vehemently the rumour peddling about that he has been settled by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Dr. Etuk cleared the air at the end of 2011 enlarged Exco. Meeting of the Etinan Chapter of the ACN held at the party secretariat at Etinan. Dr. Etuk who also holds the paramount title, ‘‘Iberedem Iman Ibom’’ noted that, the Iman Ibom People and the entire Akwa Ibom embraced Action Congress of Nigeria Party as an instrument for change when they have been tired of the way things happened in the state with particular reference to killing, kidnapping, mismanagement of funds and high level of insecurity.

The Iberedem Iman Ibom further said that, Etinan recorded the highest score during the ACN Campaign tour in the state and that had given the opposition party a food for thought. Also, he said that the ACN performed creditably in the April, 2011 poll notwithstanding the high handedness of rigging, violent, militancy and multiple thump-printing that characterized the election.

He noted that ACN created much impact in the election even though the government uses its power might to overwhelm the result. The ACN Candidate said that being dissatisfied with the result as announced by INEC, proceeded to the court of law to seek justices. He stated that surprisingly, the tribunal could not live up to expectation as members were influenced with monetary enticement by the government and also the electoral laws 2010 as amended was fused with the antics of the PDP Law-makers for their selfish aims and the petition was dismissed.

Etuk further said still unsatisfied with the ruling of the tribunal proceeded to the Appeal court sitting at Calabar. He narrated that the appeal court could not save the voice of the Iman Ibom people and the mandate as the Government power might also set in to influence the member and the petition was dismissed. Dr. Etuk moved that the petition is the only petition that was ruled on two categories.

The Iberedem Iman Ibom stressed that when noticing the lapses in the appeal court ruling proceeded to the Supreme Court at Abuja. He stated that although Supreme Court said it lacks jurisdiction to entertain the petition but had returned the petition to the appeal court sitting at Calabar and order that the appeal court should revise its former ruling on the petition. Dr. Etuk affirmed that the petition is pending at the appeal court for re-hearing.

The Executive Director, Assur Electronics stated that the Iman Ibom project is a divine project and could not be toiled with by any body. Dr. Etuk urged ACN members in Etinan to discard any information or rumour that he has been settled by the PDP or its agent as such information is misleading, mischievous and calculated attempt to tarnish his person. Furthermore, the electronic magnet thanked members for keeping the hope with the party and believing that sooner or later good tiding would emerge. He noted that the future of the Iman Ibom People ACN members is brighter. In appreciation, Dr. Etuk donated 3 cows and Bags of rice to members of ACN in Iman Ibom as Christmas gift.

In his comment, ACN Legal Adviser, Etinan Chapter, Bar. Inyang Ekong thanked Dr. Etuk for his magnanimity and generosity to the people, adding he has sown this seed of development in humanity. Bar. Ekong described him as a political changer in Iman Ibom. He noted that ACN stands for justice and would continue to uphold the tenets of Justice.
