Axe Dangles on Jos Crises Warlords
The Federal and the Plateau State Governments have promised to fully implement the outcome of the various investigation reports into the series of crises in Jos, the Plateau State Capital.
In a message to the 23rd convocation of the University of Jos, the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Dr Goodluck Jonathan said any culprit shall be made to face the full wrath of the law.
“We have come to the end of impunity and immunity and enough is enough”, he added.
Dr. Jonathan who spoke through the Minister of Education, Prof, Ruggayyatu Rufai while expressing concern over the protracted crises in the State warned that government can no longer fold its hands while a few disgruntled Zealots wreck havoc on innocent citizens.
Reports have it that three persons were confirmed dead in a renewed clash which prompted deployment of soldiers to check sectarian bloodshed.
It was gathered that angry youths had converged early on the day of the incident seeking revenge for the death of a Moslem commercial motorcycle operator at Dutse Uku.
The intervention of special task force in the state helped to bring the situation under control as they shot periodically into the air to disperse the crowd that had gathered, the report added.
